Old Holcomb Cemetery
1510 Circle Drive
Springdale AR 72764
Holcomb Cemetery appears largely as a vacant two and one half acre lot
behind houses at the east end of Circle Drive. However there are five
or six stones and remains of others in a small area of the lot. Only a
couple of the stones are easily readable but one is Margaret Smiley,
daughter of Francis M Smiley and Tabitha Holcomb who died in 1848,
only a few months after she was born. Francis Smiley's stone is
standing not far from his daughter's. There is a partial stone with
what appears to be the name Catherine Holcomb, which could be John
Holcomb's younger sister who died in 1855.
An effort is underway by the Pendleton Chapter of Daughters of the
American Colonists to have the City of Springdale "claim ownership
of this cemetery so that it may be honorably preserved.."
