Park's Station
Arkansas 265, south of Hogeye
Park's Station for the Butterfield Stage was operated by John P A Parks
and his wife Mary who were substantial landowners in the area. Parks
is buried in the family cemetery just north of the station site.
At Park's Station, heading South, mules were used to pull the coaches
over what was considered to be the most rugged and harrowing mountain
stretch on the entire Butterfield route.
